Head out on your own boat or ask us to recommend one of the many fishing charters that operate from Mount Maunganui. Then bring ‘home’ some fresh fish and fire up the barbecue!
Tauranga Marina is home to hundreds of vessels, and the Tauranga Game Fishing Club is a great spot to stop for a beer as you watch the big game fish come in to the weigh-station
There is a great variety of walks around the base and up to the summit of Mauao (Mt Maunganui) all with spectacular views.
Surfing is definitely a huge part of Mount Maunganui’s culture. Mount Maunganui beaches attract thousands of surfers here every year, many of whom like the waves so much they decide to live here!
Local surfing icon Ted Davidson who is the owner of Cosy Corner Holiday Park is responsible for some of the first fibreglass surfboards, he also had the first commercial surfboard factory in New Zealand in the early 1960's.
There are many professional instructors here who can take a complete novice and have them standing up and riding a wave within hours!

Start your adventure with a 20/25-minute scenic flight with breathtaking views of Mount Maunganui and golden beaches expanding as far as the eye can see. Higher up, you'll see White Island, Mount Ruapehu, the Rotorua Lakes, The Coromandel and even Mount Taranaki. And if you still had some breath left after that, freefalling back towards Tauranga at 200km/h on a tandem skydive might help take it away for good!

Baypark Speedway is a purpose built track for the racing of dirt track speedway cars.
The stadium has undercover seating for in excess of 20,000 people.
Speedway is raced during the summer months from October to April.
There are many different classes of cars raced here, from the spectacular V8 powered Sprintcars with their big wings, Saloon cars & Stock cars, to the youth Mini Stock class for the under 16 year olds.
There are many local and national championships held throughout the season.
The kiwifruit is a national icon. It’s one of New Zealand’s major export products and the story of its success is a real testament to kiwi ingenuity. Kiwifruit Country in Paengaroa is a great place to find out all there is to know about the fruit that was once known as the Chinese gooseberry. Take a kiwi cart tour and sample fresh kiwifruit and other kiwifruit produce at the Kiwifruit Country Store. This is a great Bay of Plenty attraction for the whole family!

The Bay of Plenty is home to several excellent quality Golf Courses, most easy to access and, thanks to our gentle climate, playable all year round. All local golf clubs welcome green-fees players.
There are two Golf Courses both less than 5 minutes drive from Cosy Corner Holiday Park – Omanu Golf Club and Mount Maunganui Golf Club. Boasting one of the most up to date, spaciously luxurious club houses in the country.
Each course offers challenges enough to satisfy all levels of golfers. All within a 30 minute drive, the keen golfer will also find Tauranga Golf Club, Otumoetai Golf Club, Te Puke Golf Club and Western Bay Golf Links.
Soak yourself in the beautifully heated water at Mount Maunganui’s Hot Saltwater Pools, right at the main Mount Beach (at the very foot of the mountain) and just a 5 minute drive from Cosy Corner Holiday Park.
The complex features special children’s pools, large hot and warm pools, smaller adult spa pools and private hot pools. There is also a massage therapist on-site. The Mount Hot Pools are open till late, 7 days a week.
